Was kann ich machen, ich habe hier Windows 8.1. laufen?

gerade eben habe ich es auch gemerkt und wollte fragen, was los ist. Auch der alte lädt nicht mehr :-( Ist erst seit dem 17.4.17. Davor ging es noch.

Da ich technisch nicht sehr bewandert bin, habe ich immer die Schuld bei mir gesucht, das der FSV, für mich "plötzlich", keine Kirchenbuchseiten mehr angezeigt hat bzw. dachte ich, ich habe die neuesten Verzeichnisse nicht richtig runtergeladen oder entpackt.

Da hat wohl jeder wie das Kaninchen vor der Schlange gestanden und gehofft, das sich ein Anderer der Sache annimmt.

Tut mir sehr leid.

Neue Version FSV 2.5.5

Hallo!

Ich habe eine neue Version des FamilySearchViewer erstellt.
Diese ist wieder im ersten Beitrag als Anhang veröffentlicht.

Was ich aber nicht verstehe ist die Tatsache, daß der FSV2.5.3
seit Januar über 250x heruntergeladen wurde, aber keiner sich
meldet, daß mit dieser Version die Umwandlung von APID nach
ID/Seite wegen Umstellungen bei FamilySearch.org nicht mehr
funktioniert.
Wir der FSV nur so zum Spaß heruntergeladen und nie genutzt?

This note is in contrast to the also linked Wikipedia article:

So don't rely on ARK or APID. The only constant over time was the combination of ID and PAGE.

You don't need all this bloated things.

FamilySearchViewer is extremely useful program, I use it to download all books and search for info offline. However thanks to all compatibility issues it is more and more difficult to use it on newer windows. Is it possible to publish business logic behind ark codes which will potentially allow more people to write something similar and maybe less dependant on OS? Or this is about protected know-how of author and should not be revealed? Thanks.

I already told you, that I have no idea how the ark system works.
I only know, that "61903" stands for FamilySearch.org.
I stated this somewhere in this thread. For download lists I use only ID and page.

Sorry for not being clear - I mean the way how the program works in listing all pages line by line. So if you can download whole film downloading image by image, you know how to request all pages consecutively. For example, if I download ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-LBT7-49B?i=25&cc=1554443, why next page of this document is ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9BT7-4KY?i=26&cc=1554443 (not only i was changed, but also LBT7-49B was changed to 9BT7-4KY); sometimes there is mode=g or i=NN, sometimes only one of them. And also whether is this download sensitive for user agent? Thanks, Peter.

Hi harmi2015!

I don't have any clue behind the 'logic' of the newer ark format. So I can't reveal any info about these links.
And i won't give any hints to make it work on any newer windows versions as Win7 (Win10 is devils work ).
I don't know other OS, so I can't help you there.

Prepáčte, ja som to pomaly vzdal. Na PC W XP anglická verzia som dal Servis pack4 a funguje. Na verzii českej W XP nefunguje. Chýba tam nejaký súbor. Ten program musí byť podporovaný niečím, čo mi vo W chýba. Ale neprišiel som na to. Nie som dosť dobrý v PC. Internet Expoler verzia 8. Možno odborník na PC by opravil chybu. Jan
