With help from fellow genealogists I have been able to find wedding info on my 2xgreat grandfather Lars Larsen Schoug, (1761-approx 1836). He was married to Catharine Elisabeth Thurowsky in Königsberg, OstPreussen 27 June 1784 (couple # 29). This information came from 'The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' (Family Search),
"Deutschland, ausgewählte evangelische Kirchenbücher 1500-1971", FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QPVV-V2NT : Tue Nov 12 22:14:59 UTC 2024), Entry for Lars Larsen and Catharina Elisabeth Thurowskÿn, 27 Jun 1784."

Below you may see what I have been able to read from the original text, which I attach both in its original form and also an inverted form, but I could really need some help in replacing all my question marks. Anyone who can help with deciphering the rest ?

1) A request like this, where you would like deciphering of a German handwritten text, belongs in the subforum "Lesehilfe" (Help with Reading) here: https://forum.ahnenforschung.net/for...rsetzungshilfe. I have requested that an adminstrator move it.

2) I realize that the citation you use was generated by familysearch, but it is entirely inadequate for German genealogical purposes, as it does not identify the church book in question. I also realize that generating the proper citation is very difficult, as the lead sheet (on image 1 of that roll) is illegible. By cross-referencing the number B-1323 in the heading on each page, I have determined that this is from the Militärkirchenbuch, 1. Ostpreußisches Infanterieregiment, 1775-1792; this regiment was indeed stationed in Königsberg.

3) I read:
H[err] Lars Larsen Schoug ein Schifs Capitaine aus Friedrichshall [=Fredrikshald] wurde mit

Ah, with Christine's reading of a Q at the beginning of Johann Thurowsky's trade I now read Quartiermeister, i.e. Quartermaster.

He was responsible for the logistics of the infantry regiment - which is why the marriage took place in the military community.
