Dear corine,
Welcome to the "Ahnenforschung.net-Forum".
Based onthis source Alexander Solomonica was born on the * 21. December 1889 in Jassy, Romania. He died † 1941 or 1942 in Poland (probably in the Ghetto Litzmannstadt or in the Kulmhof concentration camp).
I hope you will receive here further information about the Solomonica Family by other members.

Dear Corin,
as I could read in the net, Alexander Solomonica and Marianne Kuh got married about 1924 in Berlin? I am not sure about this, because both of their children, Michael and Eva, obviously got the name Kuh from their mother. But if you are sure about it, I think you should try to order the marriage certificate from the archive in Berlin. I think it will give you the names of his parents.
Chances are better if you knew the excact date of the marriage and in which part of Berlin they lived, look here:
You can also try to order a copy of the registration documents or information from it for the time when he lived in Vienna, including the time when he was a child and attending school. He must have stayed there with his parents or at least relatives. Here is a link:
Das Wiener Stadt- und Landesarchiv informiert über die Auskunft über historische Meldeunterlagen (1904-1975).
Online orders can be done here:
I do not know how to do geneology research in Romania, but perhaps it will be useful for you to sign in at: http://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/iasi/records.html

Wow. Thank you Ursulak!
You have given me a lot of information and ways to find out who his parents were. I feel happy that I should hopefully find out now. I believe Alexander and Marrianne were definitely married although 1924 would have been after the birth of my grandad michael. Maybe this is why he had his mothers name. I will now try to do some more research on the marriage and request the info/documents. Thank you! !

Thanks again. Just to update...I have ordered a copy of registration documents from Vienna. The website says this can take up to two months so will have to wait and see.
I'm not sure if I can find out enough details about the marriage. I am fairly confident that they did get married but finding out the exact date and place might be beyond me. It also seems the data on jewishgen for romania is currently being updated so within the next few months may have some new information.

Hello corin,
perhaps relatives at Alexander Solomonica:
Adressbook Vienna 1939: Solomonica, (no Alexander S.)
--> http://www.digital.wienbibliothek.at...al/zoom/262521
Adessbook Vienna 1934:
Alexander Solomonica, Schriftsteller, XVIII. Glanzingg. 33.
but: Diana Salomonika, Privatiere, IX. Bergg. 10.
Bruno Salomonier, M.Dr. Arzt, IX. Bergg. 10. (her son?)
--> http://www.digital.wienbibliothek.at...al/zoom/251050
1905, no Solomonica in Adress-Books of Vienna.
but Salomonowitz Marie, in Vienna 1905.
--> http://www.digital.wienbibliothek.at...ageview/109571
Diana Solomonica (Salomonika) formely lived in Vienna, is perhaps the mother from Bruno Solomonica.
Bruno Solomonica birth 1904, rumanian, student go 1926 to New York, to his father Dr. Solomonica.
see Ellis Island. I think, you know.
Diana Solomonica birth at 1883 in Roumania, Immigration 1933 (or 1936) to New York.
Son?: Bruno Solomonica Immigration 1933 (or 1936) to New York.
Who was her husband Dr. Solomonica? I dont know.
good luck

Thank you Juergen. I am fortunate to have found this website and there being people who can help is great.
I imagine the 1934 record is for my great granddad. he went to school near there and was 'arrested' by the nazis close to that area so I guess that was the part of vienna he grew up in and returned to when he moved back or spent time back in Vienna.
The 1939 record is interesting. I have seen some of the names before. the name klara (sometimes spelt clara) sticks out. her husband was a wilhelm solomonica born in iasi romania the same town as alexander. wilhelm and klara had children and lived in vienna http://www.geni.com/people/Wilhelm-W...00013884557943
from what i could see they lived in a different part of town but alexander is of a similar age to their children. i have wondered if they are his cousins or maybe even .....
half brothers and sister? there is no paper link to each other though
also yesterday I looked at a family tree that I created about 10 years ago. in that tree I have a sister for Alexander called Blanche. I have no idea where I got this name/information from. looking on google I can find one Blanche Solomonica who married a Paul Mahlberg. I cant find any link other than the name though so I am not sure of this link

Hello Corin and Jürgen,
checked Bruno´s birth on Family Search: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3....2Z3:n902787554
Images 746 -750 of 1283
Bruno Solomonica, * 24 Nov.1903
Julius/Ihidie Solomonica, * 14 Sep 1873 Jassy
Son of Falik Solomonica and Suria?
Wife: Dina born Braunstein, * 1882 Bacau
Julius and Dina married 24 Oct 1901 Bacau
I think Julius and Wilhelm are brothers. Wilhelms parents are given as Talik and Sara Solomonica on the geni tree.
But cannot find any link to Alexander, but why not contact the school for further information?
The k. k. Maximilians-Gymnasium today is called Gymnasium Wasagasse
The homepage of the school: http://www.bg9.at/index.php?id=38#c14
Good luck!Liebe Grüsse UrsulaK

cool, thats interesting. so Julius brother of wilhelm? is the birth certificate saying that Julius was also from Jassy/iasi? If so it seems a number of Solomonicas moved from Iasi to vienna at a similar time. surely then there must be a connection somewhere to my great grandfather?
I found a thread on this website and messaged the author konni a week ago but have not back yet. he was in class 6. http://forum.ahnenforschung.net/show...ight=Wasagasse i will try and email the school. its hard because it was so long ago. they may have his name written on the register but no record of parents? thanks for the great links and suggestions Ursula
out of interest does the birth certificate of Bruno give their address? its difficut for me to read the hand writing especially in a different language to my own

Marzell (Marcel) Solomonica suspected born 1897 in Vienna, later go to New York.
The Author Robert Neumann, perhaps is:
