ENG: Apparently a lot of documents from this region were lost during or after the war. It’s best to ask the National Archives for the ones you are interested in and they will check.

GER: Anscheinend sind viele Unterlagen aus dieser Region während oder nach dem Krieg verloren gegangen. Am besten wendet man sich an das Staatsarchiv wegen der Dokumente, die einen interessieren, und sie werden es überprüfen.
    danke!

The marriage certificate of son Jan indicates in part 2, that the marriage of his parents took place in the civil registry office Machnitz on 13th march 1918 (nr. 1/1918)
oh, thank you for that info! I didn't notice that.

Maria's death certificate gave me no father's first name (only the surname, which was obvious) and mother's name as Konstancja - this may be true, but I've already had wrong names in certificates before, so until I get Maria's birth or marrage info this cannot be confirmed.
With these infos Poznan Project presents only this exact result for the years 1870 to 1899:

        image.png

OpenStreetMap Routing with Open Source Routing Machine shows, that the distance between marriage place Sulmierzyce/Sulmirschütz and birth place Brochocine/Brochotschine of daughter Maria amounts to about 60 km. I think that to be a feasible distance even for pedestrians within some days.

        image.png

Jednostka - Szukaj w Archiwachscan 14/44 shows, that Konstanze/Constantia was born on 7.3.1855. Thus she was almost 21 years old when she married on 5.2.1876 and 41 years old at the birth of her daughter Maria on 6.11.1896. Maybe Maria has been a late child for this couple. The age of 41 years does not exclude that.

I know that all this is not a clear confirmation that this couple are parents of Maria, but may be you keep it mind.

        Kind regards
        Reiner

hmmm, this is something I can work with. thank you so much!

I also asked the Sulechów Standesamt, where she lived and died, if they had any other info in their archives on her and her husband. They promised to check and come back to me next week.

found their daughter Maria, who got married in Sulmierzyce in 1897; so it's doubtful these are my Bielawskis - it was common to name kids the same, but usually after the first one died young

I agree, it is unfortunately not likely that these Bielawskis from Sulmerzycze are your ones.
