Hier eine Frage an die Stammer-Experten:

ich suche die Eltern von Eva Auguste v. Stammer, geb. am 14. Januar 1645, gest. am 26. Januar 1684, verheiratet mit Hans v. Katte, geb. am 16. Juni 1633, gest. am 24. Januar 1684, zwei Tage vor seiner Frau. Ach ja, die Eltern Hansens v. Katte selbst wären auch toll zu wissen! Ich komme bei diesen Beiden nicht weiter.

Ich weiß das ebenfalls nicht, aber es ist ja schon einmal schön, daß es Anhaltspunkte gibt! Die Daten und Namen erscheinen plausibel. Zumindest sieht man, daß da jemand sich mit den Katte und den Stammer auseinandergesetzt hat. Die Güter waren tatsächlich in Familienbesitz.

Hi all!
I know this is a long shot and time has passed, but I was wondering if someone can relate Adam Adrian von Stammer and the ones that owned the Rammelburg castle with the Stamers in Straubing and Hassloch.

My G-g grandfather traveled in the 70s to Germany and made the tree with information he gathered back then. He went as back as 1653, naming a "Melchior Johannes von Stammer"
With today's technology, I was able to confirm all his findings were true and recorded in books, except for Melchior.

Anyway, he always stated we came from the von Stammers line that lived in Quedlinburg and the coat of arms of the two cities with the river in the middle is in my grandparents house until today.

The story told is that this Melchior gave up his title for himself but not his children, and the record stating that was in a church that was burnt. I have no idea how would he would know this.

Hello Luxie,

there are many stories about people haven given up their titles. These stories mostly serve to explain why the own ascendents aren't noble and to construct a descendence from some some noble family with the same or similar name.

In fact, it was not easy or even possible to give up or gamble away - another common trope - a title.

If you want help, you should maybe tell us more about your Stammer ancestors, especially where they lived. As such, the name is not uncommon.
