    Bruhne/Brune family of Schleswig-Holstein

    Hello,

I am new a new member to this site and am hoping that someone can help me.

I am hoping to find out any information regarding AMANDA LüDEMANN (from Barmstedt) who married Ernst Bruhne/Bruns on 27.07.1888 in Schleswig-Holstein.

To my knowledge, they had atleast 1 child. He was named for his father.
I have this information available to me because the son sent a postcard to his Aunt here in California.

Amanda, was a sister of my Great Great Grandfather. I do know that in March of 1916, she was still alive and living either in Barmstedt or Darmstadt. I would like someone's help in determining where/when she passed away and if their were any other children born to her and her husband besides the son which I mentioned.

P.S I'd like to upload a photo of the old family postcard in case it may be of some help. But I cannot seem to do this.

    Hello California love
welcome to our forum. To upload a picture you have to click on the paper clip in the upper menu right next to the big white smiling face. Click Durchsuchen (browse), choose your picture and then click Hochladen (upload). Scroll down to Fenster schließen. Hope I could help.

    Greetings, Anja

        Hi !

Well, its good that You have the date of their marriage and the name of the husband, too. Hopefully, they were married in Barmstedt.

I would go for the marriage certificate in Barmstedt (http://www.vg-barmstedt-hoernerkirchen.de) and write to Standesamt Barmstedt/Hörnerkirchen:

        Stadt Barmstedt/Amt Hörnerkirchen
        Standesamt
        Am Markt 1
        25355 Barmstedt

website says that it would be 10 Euros for that, thats a good price in Germany !

Would be good to ask also for the "Randbemerkungen" to be sure they copy them, too. If You are lucky there is a "Randbemerkung" where and when broom or bride died.

Other way: The churchbooks in Kirchenkreisarchiv Rantzau-Münsterdorf (for adress see: http://www.nordelbisches-kirchenarch...chenbuchaemter). Perhaps they can find the marriage and perhaps it says where the broom came from. They are very kind there.

Both possibilities cost something (and could take some time waiting ...), and will give small but valuable hints. Of course, best thing would be someone with actual knowlegde of this family who could help You much further.

        best regards,
        matthias

          Dear Matthias,

I appreciate your help. Thankfully, I am being currently helped by two very kind people from Deutschland. Thank you so much.
