    Please, Help with my ancestors

Hello to everyone, i hope maybe you can help me out.
I'm from Argentina, and one of my ancestors came to this country in the XIX century. Sadly, here they always misspelled her lastname wrong. Not even my grandmother knew the lastname of her grandmother. This is the information that I have from her:
Her name was Catherine (I assume in german Katharina). Maybe her last name was something like: Arnenson, Arnson, Arneson, Arnesano. She was born between 1837 and 1839 in Koblenz (at least that's what my grandmother used to tell). She later married a french man called Jules Dousset (I don't know where or when, the story was that it was a forbbiden love), and came to Argentina I think near 1860. I couldn't find any entrance records here, but there are birth certficates of their children from 1861 on.
From her death certificate I could reacall that her mother was Agripina Lutz and her fathers name was Josef.

Any kind of help solving this puzzle would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance

    Hi,
I'm posting a link to the posts that were made about this question in 2023. This way we can avoid that people do the same work they did in 2023.
Hopefully your ancestor can be found.
    Kind regards, Christine

Hello to everyone here. I'm wrinting from Argentina, trying to get some information regarding my great-great grandmother. I don't have a lot of information about her, only that her name was Catherine/Catharina. Her lastname sadly it's not very clear, as I don't have any document from her and in every birthcertificate of her

      Hi,

I checked the name index of the Koblenz birth certificates for the letter A between 1835 and 1840, there is no good "candidate". The documents can be found on APERTUS, the digital archive for Rheinland-Pfalz. The closest I get is ARNHOLD (Maria Carolina, 655/1836) which does not seem to fit.

I also found no hint for the possible marriage between 1853 and 1862 in the name index of that time.

Mentioning "Koblenz" as birth place might also refer to the wider region of the Koblenz governmental district at that time.

      Good luck

      Gerd

        Hi,
        I have two questions:

Are we actually certain that the place your grandmother mentioned was the town Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany? There is a very small village in Saxony, Germany, which is also called Koblenz.

Also I was wondering whether you've got any documents that mention the place Koblenz? Maybe there were different spellings that could lead us to a different town in Germany which might have a name similar to Koblenz.

        Greetings, Christine

          Hi,
Here another question: Do you have any more information on Catharina's husband Jules Dousset? Are his parents possibly in his death record?
          Greetings, Christine
