It's me again Heath,
I did a lot of research on the family Preis/Preiß, who are a prominent part of my own pedigree. For early roots you may consult the pdf-file in the thread http://forum.ahnenforschung.net/showthread.php?t=48256,
I think I can contribute to your last question on how Maria Anna Preis is related to Caspar Preis. To this end start with his grandson
Christoph Preis (b. 1658, d. 8.7.1703) married to Catharina Freidhoff (b. 1658, d. after 1709). According to his gravestone (cf. the book edited by Eckhardt and Klingelhöfer) they hat 13 children:
Anna, b. 1679, d. 18.9.1749, m. to Georg Trier (b. 1672, d. 1.1.1733) in Stausebach
Henrich,b. 1682, d. before 1716
Niklas (Clos) ,b. 1687, d. after 1739
Anna Elisabeth,b. 1689, d. 2.10.1760, m. 4.5.1711 to Andreas Fischer (b. 1.6.1687, d. 5.5. 1758) in Schröck
Anna Maria,b. 1691, d. not known
Johannes,b. 1694, d. 12.5.174 in Stausebach (after living in Hungary)
Johann Conrad (Curt),b. 1696, d. before 1703
Christoph,b. between 1697 and 1703, d. not known
Peter,b.between 1697 and 1703, d. not known
Henrich, b. after 1697, d. before 1703
Johann, b. after 1697, d. before 1703
Anna Elisabeth, b. after 1697, d. before 1703
Anna Catharina, b. after 1697, d. before 1703
Their heir was Niklas (Nikolaus/Clos) followed by his (grand)son Christian Preis, mentioned 1759-62, and his (grand)grandson Johann Henrich Preis, mentioned 1779, b. 1749 (62 years old in March 1811), m. to Maria Margaretha Schmitt (b. 1755). [Here I'm not quite sure.9
Joh. Henrich was the father of
Johannes Preis (b. 1775, 36 years old in March 1811), and Johann Peter (Petter) Preis (b. 1.10.1782, 28 years old in March 1811, m. 15.5.1809 to Maria Anna Höck), and, therefore, grandfather of Maria Anna Preis (b. about 1800).
Johann Henrich Preis had a brother Otto Preis and a sister Catharina Preis (b. 1745, married to Joseph Zimmer).
Source for this is the (not easy to read) Civilstandsregister Stausebach , where Johann Henrich and his two sons sign as witnesses.
