I would like to start this post by thanking those who were kind and helped me with my previous post allowing me to further my knowledge of ancestors I was struggling to locate info on. Being somewhat familiar with European history there is still much more to learn and I am thankful to have found this website. The kindness is truly appreciated!
I signed up for a SGGEE membership and wish I had sooner! I also with some info came with copies of documents rather than just the text but thats not always possible.
This post is in regard to my great grandmother, Mathilde Lenz born Mar 26 1893 (Parents Wilhelm Lenz & Agathe Fenske) and the info I have stumbled upon. I am hoping to get some feedback along with my search to better understand these locations and being sure of my great grandmother Mathildes place of birth.
With all that said I have been browsing SGGEE and stumbled upon my great grandmothers baptism! With birth date and parent information being accurate. There birth place is listed as Dombrowka (Dąbrówka?). Upon googling this, it says its a village in Poland. It then says the parish is Tutchin (Tuchyn), a settlement in the Rivne Oblast of western Ukraine. I looked into this a little further and saw on the SGGEE site that "congregations in the County of Rowno and nearby areas were separated from the Parish of Zhitomir in 1888 and formed a new "Permanent Adjunct" or parish centered in the centrally-located small town of Tutschin." within Krapkowice County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland and my great grandmother being born in 1893 we see the pastor, Ernst ALTHAUSEN (1888 – 1902).
As I continue to research this, I was hoping I could get some feedback on this location, parish, timelines etc. Anything that can help me better understand my great grandmothers birthplace and possibly even lead me to more records!
