    [gelöst] French translation regarding death

Quelle bzw. Art des Textes: Family Search
Jahr, aus dem der Text stammt: 1805
    Ort/Gegend der Text-Herkunft: Homburg
Namen um die es sich handeln sollte: Catharina Elisabeth Muller

Good evening. The attached link is part of the marriage entry of my ancestors: Charles BEILSTEIN and Salomee HOLLAENDER on 30 November 1805. I am interested in understanding what is written about the death of the bride's mother: Catharina Elisabetha MULLER. This is written on the top of the left page. I have included a link and an attachment. Thank you for any assistance.

    Regards,

    Ellen

    Hi Ellen

    It says

Catharine Elisabeth Muller, décédé le six Pluviose an onze, constaté par acte de décès delivré à Hombourg le dix-huit Brumaire an quatorze.

She died on the sixth day of the month called Pluviose in the year eleven of the French Republic, which was written in the death record which was sent to Hombourg on the eightteenth day of the month called Brumaire in the year fourteen of the French Republic.

six Pluviose an onze = 26. January 1803

    Regards
    Svenja

        Hello Ellen and Svenja,

        Svenja : it’s almost correct but « délivré à Hombourg » doesn’t mean « sent to Hombourg » but « issued at Hombourg ».

Consequently I would suggest « as established in the death record issued at Hombourg on … »

        Best regards
        Viele Grüße.

        Armand
