[gelöst] Latin Death Entries - Strass bei Neuburg

Quelle bzw. Art des Textes: Matricula
Jahr, aus dem der Text stammt: 1663-1678
Ort/Gegend der Text-Herkunft: Strass bei Neuburg
Namen um die es sich handeln sollte: Gaugenrieder

I am searching for the deaths of my ancestors: Joannes GAUGENRIEDER and his wife, Margaretha.

I found the attached death for Margaretha that states she is a widow. But I can not understand the word written before "GAUGENRIEDER" in this entry.

Earlier on the same page, there is a death entry for Joannis GAUGENRIEDER. I think this may be her husband and seek translation help.

The only other entry I found was a death for Joannes GAUGENRIEDER in 1678, which I attached, but I can not read.

    Thank you for any assistance.

    Regards,

    Ellen

    Hi Ellen:

In Margaretha's entry the word before Gaugenrieder is "praedicti" - the "previously mentioned". This means that she is the widow of the Gaugenrieder mentioned previously on the same page.

For the second entry, the first part is in Latin and reads in translation "in the month of June in the same year died with all sacraments and was buried Joannis Gaugenrieder." The part thereafter is in German, which I read as "gewesener Paumaister im hiesigen Schloß", meaning something like "former construction master in the local castle".

The third entry is for the death on 19 April 1678 of the "honest youth" Joannis Gaugenrieder with all sacraments, may he rest in peace.

Thank you very much, Carl-Henry. I was hoping that the third entry for Joannis would make it clear that this was a child and therefore, I would know this is not my ancestor. The information you provided is very helpful and I appreciate your time.

      Kind regards,

      Ellen
