Searching for the birth information of my great,great,grandfather Johann Valentin Kurth, a master tailor from Pasewalk. Born about 1808, married 1839 to Charlotte Lohrenz of Pappendorf. Died 1861 in Pasewalk.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Anja,
I am new to the forum and still finding my way around.
I have been to Pasewalk and have seen the marriage and death records for Johann, also the birth records of his two sons. On the record of his eldest son Julius it states that Johann was baptised a Catholic but asked to join the Lutheran church.
I have looked at the Catholic Church records but they only went back to 1810 and it appears that Johann was born in 1808.
I have some records with his signature on from the tailors guild which I got from Griefswald
But there was no further information.
I will try the email you suggested.
