This is the marraige for Wilhelmine Jaeger and Carl Sass can someone please read and transcribe this for me.

ich lese:
den ein und dreißigsten December copulirt Wittwer Carl Saß Zieglermeister in Groß Jesewitz, mit Pauline Wilhelmine geborene Jaeger, hinterlassene Wittwe des in Thyrnau (oder so ähnlich) verstorbenen Einwohners und Schneiders Ignatz Meller.
Er 30 Sie 28 Jahre alt.

Das ist wunderbar - Gratulation.
Es bestätigt sehr gut, was bisher dazu überlegt wurde. Sogar das Datum der Hochzeit hatten wir zutreffend prognostiziert.

Horst von Linie 1 liest ganz richtig, nur ein Ortsname ist zu korrigieren: Thymau

Mewe und Thymau liegt beides in der rechten unteren Ecke, ganz nah an der Weichsel (die auf dem östlich Nachbarblatt fast unmittelbar anschließt).

T(h)yrnau war Wunschdenken. Mein Urgroßvater war um 1898 dort beim Militär.

Ulpius, Now I have 100% for the connection to Pauline Wilhelmine Renata Jaeger and Georg Gottlieb Jaeger, interesting that Carl Sass is a widow also, may need to look at that when I have time. Another question is, did Wilhelmine & Ignatz have any children? Trouble with genealogy one answer leads to many more questions.

I had look at Kartenmeister and maps and I see Gross Jesewitz is the next village south from Thymau.

when I visited school some forty years ago our English-teacher insisted on widowER for a male person.
As he (teh teacher) was no native-speaker I address my question to you:
When did that change?

As I wrote earlier, I suppose, that Wilhelmine and Ignatz didn't have surviving children. If they had had some, after the death of the father this very young persons nearly absolutly sure would have stayed with their mother and would subsequently have entered the new familiy with Carl Sass. So they shouldn't be lost without any trace.
That is no rock You can build a house on, but reasonable guesses. As for now You have found prove for the marriage of Wilhelmine and Carl, You may be lucky again to find out, when Ignatz died. If there are not only marriage-Matrikel but also some of death and baptisms, the possibility exists, to close these gaps. - As You see, everything happens in a very small radius, so I would like to suppose: No searching in big distances should be necessary. Most far away will be the place of death of Carl - somewhere in Russland. I think to find that place tends to be impossible. But - who knows?

Hello Horst,

You are most certainly correct, he is a widower and not the other. It was a typing error, my brain had one thought and my typing finger had a different thought.

I like these strange connections that happen from time to time. Here is one person on one side of the world to someone on the other side and end up with a connection in a small village in today's Poland.
