    Weber aus Wiener Neustadt

    Hello everyone!
    Sorry for probably not writing according to the forum rules, but I don't speak German And I need help in a question which I try to find out for a long time already, but with no success.
    Namely, I am from Croatia, but have Austrian ancestors... which are very mysterious for me and I want find out more.
    Namely, somehow at the end of 19th century or beginning of 20th, my great-great-grandmother married a Croatian guy and from that moment on, lived in Croatia.
    But, she was originally from Austria, and all that I know about her is that her name was Juliana (or maybe with double "n"?) Weber. According to family stories, she was a daughter of some Austrian nobleman, but supposedly out of marriage. She was from Wiener Neustadt. That's all I know and I desperately want to find more about her origin and about that Weber family.
    I had a little, probably a bit foolish hope, that she is connected with general Viktor Weber von Webenau )
    But anyway, I will be very grateful if someone could help me... because it's so difficult for me to investigate anything not knowing German

        Hello to Croatia,
        in Wiener Neustadt city there are 2 churches: Hauptpfarre and Neukloster. I checked baptisms from 1859-1897 in both churches, there are Weber´s, but no Juliana, at least not in the index (sometimes children are forgotten in the index, then it becomes hard, you would have to go through the whole book).
        In the district of Wiener Neustadt there are too many churches to check such a long time period.
        If she was named Juliana Weber and the father was unknown, the mothers family name was Weber. If the father was named Weber and the child was legalized lateron (got the name Weber by legalization), then you will find her under the mother´s maiden name.
        To have chances to find her one needs more details - where and when did she marry and what was the name of the husband, maybe with the marriage record you can find more details.
        Best regards from Austria
        Christine

          First of all, I wish to thank everyone for kind greetings and valuable help!

          @detailsachse
          Thank you for valuable link! I will definitely try to investigate it when I find time. It's very good that something like this exists!

          @Stuttgart
          Yes, that's the one!

          @Sinhuber
          Thank you very much for valuable information. This what you said just proves once again how tricky and complicated is to discover something more. Sadly, I don't have a lot of information, because my only source of information was my great-grandmother, her daughter-in-law... But when she got married and met this Juliana, she felt that it may be inappropriate and not polite to ask too much, so she never found out more details
          Anyway, I know that she got married in village Plešce near current Croatian-Slovenian border, and got married to a merchant called Anton Muhvić. I guess I should go once to that local parish and investigate things there.

          Btw, some time ago I have found on the internet list of coats of arms of different Austrian families. There was also a coat of arms of family Weber from Niederosterreich. It was two fields, one blue, one gold, and in one field was a star, in another one was moon... But now I cannot find that link anymore I am curious if it is maybe the coat of arms of my family. Also, in this main church in Wiener Neustadt (I have been there once), next to the wall are big stone boards with different coat of arms... but there is nothing written on them and I couldn't find any roots to me whatsoever

            Hello to Croatia,
            church books from Croatia are online at https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/...nts&cc=2040054
            but there are all religions and I could not find the place. Maybe this is easier for you with local geographical knowledge.
            Best regards from Austria and Merry Christmas
            Christine

              Merry Christmas to Croatia,
              since celebrations with family and frieds are over, I would like to send you a little Christmas gift in form of informations:
              you can find the coats of arms usually in books called Siebmacher, here it is in black and white: http://gdz.sub.uni-goettingen.de/dms...ysid=PHYS_0301 - it is out of the book of Carinthian nobles, not Niederösterreich! And here it is in colour: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weber_...delsgeschlecht)
              Here is a curriculum of Viktor Weber Edler von Webenau: http://weltkriege.at/Generalitaet/03...eber/weber.htm and pictures you can find at: http://www.archivinformationssystem.at/detail.aspx?ID=3121850 and http://www.archivinformationssystem....spx?ID=3121734
              What I could not find is the Wappenbrief (could not find even correct translation for Wappenbrief - it is the document of the monarch approving the title, which should contain the information who is entitled to use the coat of arms, like all children and descendants, or only male legal descendants or ... normally should be found at Austrian State Archive, but I was not successfull in the Information System there, there are files about Webenau in Kärntner Landesarchiv, regretfully not online (see http://www.landesarchiv.ktn.gv.at/klais/ and enter Webenau in Suche)
              Hope this motivates you to do further researches and if you need help don´t hesitate to ask.
              Best regards from Austria
              Christine
