Max Ernst Kornmann aus Eisenberg, Thüringen

    Guten tag,

My great grandfather's name was Max Ernst Kornmann,
born 25 november 1887 (Eisenberg, Thüringen). He probably had
two sisters Frida/Frieda and Elsa Rosa. One of them was
probably married to a Heinz Neumann and had a son Heinz and
a daughter Lotte. I have no more information on them, than what I
have read on the back of a picture.
Max Ernst his parents are Ernst Richard Kornmann and Auguste
    Pauline Bauer.
Max Ernst was in the German Army at Metz from 1907 till 1909 and
went to work in the Dutch Indonesian Army in 1913. He therefore
went to Indonesia and became a Dutch citizen in 1939. He lived in
Indonesia from 1913 till 1950 and died in the Netherlands in 1952.
After World War 2 he never saw his mother and sisters again.
The last time he saw them was on a leave to Europe in 1939.

So now I'm searching his family history. Does anyone know him or
his family? It is very difficult to search for them.
I'm also a member of ancestry.de and of geneanet.org (lbergwerffkornmann), but there is also no information
    on them.

    Thank you for your help.
    Kind regards
    Leonie

    Hi Leonie,
I am by no means an expert and still a novice in family research. I received valuable family information from contacting various "Standesamts" and each document (birth, marriage or death) provided further names for me. There will be a charge and you might have to wait a while. Standesamts generally have information from 1875 forwards, prior information will have to be from Church records. Here's a link to the Eisenberg Standesamt http://www.stadt-eisenberg.de/kultur/standesamt01.htm

    Good Luck!

        Hi, Leonie,

I suppose you googled for Kornmann in Eisenberg yourself.

https://adressbuecher.genealogy.net/...der=asc&start=.. provides Ernst Kornmann, Tischler in Moritzstrasse 6.
Pauline K. Wäscherin in Lange Gasse 24 ( widowed)
One of them should be father or mother in 1913.
No Neumann Heinz, Elsa or Frieda entry in Eisenberg directory in 1925.
Ernst K. in Leipziger Tor 5 in 1925
Pauline K. still in Lange Gasse 24.

        Regards,

          Hi Thomas,

Yes I found this also in the address books of 1913 and 1925. Pauline Kornmann, Wittwe, is indeed his mother. Max Ernst gave her address when he registered with the Dutch Indien Army. Therefore I know that she was already a widow in 1913. But thank you very much for helping with the search. I really appreciate it.

          Kind regards,

          Leonie

            Hi Leonie,
Another suggestion is to search this Forum for "Kornmann" or "Eisenberg".

            Cheers,
