Marriage of Amanda Friederike LÜDEMANN to Ernst BRUHN/ BRUHNE/ BRUNE 27.07.1888

    Hello,

My 3rd Great Aunt was born in Barmstedt. She was married on July 27, 1888 to Ernst Bruhn. I believe she was married in Barmstedt but not certain.

I know that she was still alive in 1916. And living in Barmstedt or Darmstadt. I'd like to find out whatever information on her that is available.

    When did she pass away?

    Where was she married?

Does she have any descendants living?

Thank you for whomever is able to help me!

Anyone? Please? I'd REALLY like to know what became of my 3rd Great Aunt Amanda. She was a twin by the way!! But her twin sister came to USA.

She married Ernst Bruhn on July 27, 1888. She was born in Barmstedt. In 1916 she was still alive because she was mentioned in the obituary of one of her sisters who passed away here in USA.

All I'd like to know is if someone can find her living in Barmstedt around this time or if someone can find out if she had any children and also when she passed away.

I'd like to add her information to my family tree.

        Hello Jenny,

was your cousin lutheran? (She most likely would be originating from this area).

Anyway, you could try to get her birth, marriage and death records from the church archives
from Barmstedt-Rantzau. They normally charge a fee.

        archiv@kk-rm.de

Searching for descendants could be more difficult due to German privacy laws. Information is restricted to family members in direct lineage only or long waiting periods for other family or unrelated individuals (110 years after birth).

You might also ask for help at the city archives

        Hope that helps. Good luck,

        Lisa-Marie

          Hello.

One of the best things you can do is to provide the information you already have on her. You are asking for "Amanda Friederike LÜDEMANN to Ernst BRUHN/ BRUHNE/ BRUNE 27.07.1888" so you put her name in the title, but nowhere in the messages do you give much information on what you have. You later mention a twin sister who went to the US but you do not give the twin sister's name nor a date of birth. You mention you know she (Amanda) was alive as of 1916 but what is your information on that. If all you have is the obituary that doesn't mean she was alive then, it means the person providing the information may have presumed she was alive still or did not know and just provided a sisters name so the person printing the obit would have presumed the person alive. Many obituaries only mention one or a few relatives when there are many because of lack of communication. Do you have any information on this sisters' family, were there children in the marriage. Basically was there any indication that this Amanda corresponded with her sister or her sister's family after the sister left for the US?

Perhaps you think it not necessary but sometimes the information you already have will provide a clue or provenance to other information. Also, have you traced your ancestor back as well? Do you know the parents or the grandparents of these sisters?

          Kasia
