Hello Everybody,

I am Marleen and I am from the Netherlands. I am doing research for my book about the last jewish people who lived in my village (Ouderkerk aan den IJssel). I am making a sort of memorybook of the decsendants of Eduard Walg and Klaartje Blok. Who they were, where they lived, wtat they did and offcourse what happened to them in the 2nd WW.

One of his grandchildren was Eduard Prins who married a german lady called Anna Minna Paul, born in Netzschkau at 19 aug 1896. (not 100%) She was a daughter of Albin Descher Paul en Lisbeth Gorz. Where they were born I don't know.

What I wanted to ask is, if there is anyone who wants to do a search for me. Due to health issues it is very hard for me to travel to Germany at this time.
I want to know if there is a "trauschein ??" /marriage document of Eduard Prins and Anna Minna Paul. In Holland I can't find any. In 1940 Anna died, so they were married before that time. Any other information is also very welcome.
Maybe she is family to one of you. Then I would really like to mail with you.

Do you have any suspicion where in Germany the marriage might have happened? It might be pretty hard to find something without any idea of the locality. Do you for example suspect the marriage might have happened in Nezschkau? If yes, I assume it is Nezschkau in Saxony? In this case it might be the best to write to the office where the data lies today (I could look up where this is or even formulate a german-language letter to them for you). If of course the marriage happened elsewhere, this will be pretty hard without any clues where exactly the marriage happened.

Hi Marleen,
Steffen has already pointed out the difficulties in finding the marriage act for Eduard Prins and Anna Mina Paul. You have not yet mentioned where Anna's death in 1940 has been recorded. Since Anna's birth date is apparently also not sure, I suggest to check the details of the 1940 death certificate. Beside the name of the deceased German death acts usually mention also age, birth date and place, names of parents and husband/wife. If this source does not contain any further Information you could check with the Standesamt in Netschkau (or the archive in charge) if they have Anna's birth certificate. If so, you might be lucky, as birth certificates frequently contain information about the marriage as marginal notes. As always in family research, one has to establish the known hard facts and their sources first. Based on that, one can determine what would be the most meaningful course of action.
