My GG Grandparents Ernst G. And Caroline ( Lehmann, Lemann ) Broese migrated from Elster , Germany to the United States in June 1881st All seven of their children were born in Elster according to the microfilm from Family Search for Elster. Ernst was born 17 August 1829 in Magpie, and Caroline was born 4 February 1834 ( unknown place). They were not Evangelical Lutheran . His parents are listed as John G. & " Johanne ( or perhaps Johanna) ( Lenz) Broese . The microfilm does go far enough back for me to investigate Johann and Johanne 's date and place of birth , marriage , and death. If anyone has additional information on this and would like to share it , I would appreciate it.
