Good Afternoon! I am looking for the birthdate and parents (including maiden name of mother) of my ancestor Jozefa Hart who was born around 1750. I found Martin Hart, who was either her brother or her cousin, but I could not find her. He was baptised 11/26/1754 Ober-Roden and his parents are Johann and Maria Magdalena (no maiden name). Jozefa married Joseph Fritz and ended up in the Galicia area of Poland along with Martin, who married Maria Margaretha Christ. Martin and his wife left from Urberach to go to Poland if this helps. though I do not have anything particular to contribute for now, I woild like to ask if you have the original baptism record and can provide it here? As far as I know Ober-Roden, was entirely Catholic at the time, so I suppose it is from a Catholic church book?

Good afternoon! Thank you for the question. I found this information on IGI Family Search (International Genealogical Index). There is only an index of the information, it doesn't show me the original record. The index is from the Rhineland-Palatinate, Diocese Mainz, Catholic Church Book of 1540-1968..pages 98 & 99....I appreciate your time and assistance!

The record is in the Catholic church book of Ober-Roden, which is also indexed at https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/162032 (the actual church books can be seen in a Family History Center)

Going through the index, I found the following baptisms of children of Joannes Hart and his wife Maria Magdalena (names in Latin, as normal for Catholic records):

15 Dec 1753 Anna Maria
26 Nov 1754 Joannes Martinus
24 Nov 1757 Maria Anna
11 Nov 1758 Anna Maria
28 Oct 1764 Susanna
4 Oct 1767 Anna Margaretha
17 Apr 1771 Andreas

No Josepha there; also did not find a Josepha Hart elsewhere in the region (at least as indexed by familysearch), or a marriage of a Joseph Fritz with a Hart.

What records do you have for her from Galicia?

Hello Carl-Henry... many thanks for your email. In regards to Josepha her approximate birth year of 1751 is based on her death age. Same year of birth for husband Joseph. They were residing in Dzikowiec (used to be called Wildenthal) Poland. She died 6/10/1831 and Joseph died 10/22/1831 in house#11 in Dzikowiec. It is possible his surname was Fryc but the records sometimes look like Fritz and sometimes maybe Fryc. I only know of one child they had who was my 3rd great-grandmother Karolina who was born around 1784. She married twice in Dzikowiec and died in that same house #11 on 12/14/1855. Josepha and Joseph come up in the records sometimes as godparents. I had found Martin Hart's immigration record thru Vienna to Dzikowiec on FamilySearch (from "Ansiedlerakten 1782-1805") but I did not find a record for Josepha. So I have hit a brick wall! Unfortunately I don't drive and I look after my dad who is 97 and housebound so I won't be getting to a FamilySearch center. I hope one day more records will come online for the Ober-Roden, Urberach area. Best Regards and thanks again, I so appreciate the help!
