    available marriage records

Please help me with information. I tried to obtain copies of my Aunt's marriage records but I cannot because I am not a direct descendant. When will I be able to see her records?

Her first marriage was August 1.1939
She became a widow on May 26,1945
Second marriage was on July 23, 1949

    Ideas and suggestions are appreciated!
    Gloria

At a german Standesamt the lock-ing time because of personal information's protection is:
    birth - 110 years
    marriage - 80 years
    death - 30 years

You can maybe ask another member of the family who is a direct decendant?
What area are you searching, Hessen?
    Dauersuchen:

    3) WIECHERT, geboren in Alikendorf (Großalsleben) später in Schönebeck

      Oliver,
I am searching Frankfurt to identify my father's relatives. I have very little information on the family and want to contact my cousins. I do not have the names of my Aunt's husbands so tracing is impossible. My father died when I was 10. I have a number of photos that he brought with him to America.

Are the 80 years based on month and day also or just the year?

Thank you very much for the information.
      Kind regards,
      Gloria

        Gloria,

at least the 1945 civil records for deaths in Frankfurt are online, but it will take some searching...

Since you do not know the full name of your aunt`s first husband, who died on 26 May 1945, we will be left guessing, since there was probably more than one person, who died that day in Frankfurt. But if you know your aunt`s maiden name and would be willing to share it with us, then we may be able to find the right record, since the name of the widow is listed in these documents as well. Here is one possible candidate (death of Robert Stehl on 26 May 1945, widow Lina Theodore born Kochlin):

My aunt is Maria Theresia Holzmeister, born November 25, 1911 in Frankfurt.
If you can find any details I would appreciate the help!

                Gloria,

in the margin note you also find your aunt's date of birth (November, 25th, 1911) and the number of children (1). Since I could not find (in familysearch) any death record for a child named Bauersfeld between 1939 and 1978, you might have at least one living relative.

                Kind regards,
                Ramanujan
