Help to find information relatives 1892-1898

    Hi all

I am new here but it looks like a active forum to search for information. I am abit stranded so i seek help to find out more on the german roots.

I am looking for information about Karl / Carl Gustav Ludvig Brauner, born in Görlitz 1. sep. 1856. Married to Augusta Louise Brauner (born Kleinert) 19.april 1858 Neugericht, Kreis Waldenburg

We have a writing of one of the children that lived up that there was 13 children. I have tracked down 9 of them but alot of the data around it is not good. So this is where i hope i can get some help. We know they lived in Altona Hamburg in the period 1892-1898 so it's my intrest to know if more children died in that period and to get some confirmation on those we have found (dates/names).

I have tried to figure out how to get information from the Hamburg Archives, but as everything is in german it's very difficulty to find out. I have read some places that they can be ordered. If anybody can help me, please do

If you need more information about the names, please post, i'll share information i have.

    Thank you for reading!

    Hi fedde,

neither in 1892 nor in 1895 there is an entry in Altona directory for Brauner surname as you can find here: http://agora.sub.uni-hamburg.de/subh...olume?all=true

I found a K Brauner, shoemaker, in Hamburg dir, Falkenried ( street name).

    Regards,

    Thomas

I tried to find it, but i must be blind, there is alot of catalogs under each year that is hard to understand.

            Columns mean:

No of Standesamt 20 and 3 both are Hamburg-Eimsbuettel (does match with Falkenried entry), 2 Hamburg-Mitte
            event no
            date (beginning in 1896)
            year

            Good night

Thank you, this has actually been alot of help. Possible you have solved some of the missing children we are looking for.

Carl Wilhelm, Helen Wilhelmine, Karl Richard Brauner shows the right years of my records, so this is positive match.

                Hi fedde,

maybe you do already know birth entries. I attached them as well as an excerpt from the 1897 directory.

                Have a nice Sunday

                Thomas

P.S.: Just found the website providing me with family data: http://www.vineta.no/Familien%20Brauner.htm

                  Hi Thomas

Yes, the vineta page is my uncle who did the search 20-30 years ago, but did not get any further on the brauner family, it has been my source to start on. So i have picked up the thread to find out more, and it looks like you are right on track here to solve something that we have been wondering on for a long time.

Problem for me is to know how to find things in the German systems, apparently you are super searching
