I am a Dane, looking for help finding my german ancestors

I don't have much to go by, but I know this: There were three Bartholdy-brothers in Hamburg. One of them, Frantz, emigrated to Denmark from Brandenburg in the 1730's, since he was in a tailor in court for princess Sophie Magdalena in Hamburg, and she brought him with, when she married the Danish crown princess. He was born about 1707, and in 1719, his brother Johan Poul Bartholdy was born, the youngest, Caspar Joachim Frederich Bartholdy, was born in about 1725. None of their births are found by me or my danish heritage. I assume that they were all born in german, since they wrote german for 3 generations and went to the danish german church.

So I am looking for informations about them and their forfathers!

    Hi,
I have Bartholdy ancestors as well, but they are mostly from Pomerania and were born much later than 1707.

Thanks for that! It must be him. I already have his family and his siblings. What I am looking for is the parents, grandparents and so on. Do you have any way of finding it locally in Germany? It is not possible in Denmark!

And this chart calls his father Caspar Conrad Bartholdy. That cannot be right. Born in Slagelse, Denmark?

                  Hi Kanto,
If I read right, Caspar died in Slagelse, but it seems a bit weird, that he died "so far away" from his son.
It should take a while to get in this period to get from Kopenhagen to west of Sjaeland.

I think the chart says that Casper Conrad died in Korsør, Slagelse Herred, Sorø Amt, Danmark, his place of birth is not mentioned.
Frantz Conrads place of birth is not mentioned either.

Either of them may be born in Germany, maybe in Braunschweig (according to alex13's link).
You might look in the Landeskirchliches Archiv of Landeskirche Braunschweig in Wolfenbüttel

or ask them to research for you.

I was hoping that someone was able to search for me in the archives, I think it's way too expensive to ask them to search for me. But if it's too much to ask, I'll let it go for a couple of years until I'm done being a poor student!

                              Hi Kanto,
if someone looks for you in the archive he or she has to pay for it, for half a day 9€, and every copy aswell.
Maybe one day you'll might come to germany and look for your self?
Or you ask in the "Niedersachsen-Forum" if another user can look and copy?
                              Greetings from Hamburg
