And here, an article says, that 9 people were able to swim to the nearby island Borkum !!

translated: "...later nine completely exhausted reached the island of Borkum..."

    Very thrilling!
Now we have to find out the names of these 9 people!! I believe Adolph is one of them!

....9 people were able to swim to the nearby island Borkum...
      Incorrect assumption, My mistake.
That was impossible, because the ship sunk 19 nautical miles offshore. I think they rowed a lifeboat.
But are these 9 people already named in the list of saved people in the newspaper from 24 January 1883 ?
I think not. The thesis, that Adolph survived, is not overcome.

              Hallo an alle anderen Leser,
Damit müssen wir also vom Tod aller Familienmitglieder ausgehen.
              Viele Grüsse
              Viele Grüße

                @ Renate Helene,

I do hope you are not feeling sad anymore. I have written to Anna in a private email. My day was very busy but yes she is wonderful and I'm very grateful for her help and not just to her but to you as well and every other researcher on this forum who freely gives of their time to help others research parts of their family!! I hope to one day be a researcher on this forum, once I am fluent in German lol, (I'm learning, baby steps)

                  Hello cousinsucher,

I have included the link to the passenger list of the last voyage of the S.S.Cimbria into the german wikipedia under 'Cimbria (Schiff)'. (see under Belege No.2).
You can also use the following identical link:
