Oh and btw, it seems that when Anna Wolf (wife of Cajetan Süß) died in 1851, Cajetan got married a 2nd time - on August 5th, 1854 to Anna S...te.

This is probably the marriage entry of the parents of Anna Maria Finsterwald. One should double-check that they actually had a daughter of that name.

He was a widower, lived at Niederpöring No. 70 or 10?, and died of "Auszehrung" at 27th of November 1829. He was buried at the 29th at Niederpöring He was 74 years old, but that should be taken with a grain of salt or two. I did look at the book of baptisms of Niederpöring for 1750 -1760 and it seems that he wasn't born there.

She died at 7th of January 1811, of "Gliedkrankheit" [lit: illness of the limbs], she was 67 years old and lived at Niederpöring No. 9. [it is possible that house numbers changed at some time]. She was buried on the 9th at Niederpöring.

Note: Oberpöring apparently used to belong to the parish of Ettling, not Niederpöring. For Ettling, there are no Indices before 1777.

I am adding all these many details to my family tree. How intriguing that Sebastian Süß is cited as a französischer Soldat [French soldier] & blacksmith. I must check my history books to see what was happening at this time for a German man to be fighting for the French.

Actually it seems that it might have been an actual frenchman, not a german one. Hence the name "Sebastian", which can be both - a german or a french first name (different spelling though). So who knows

P.S: Cajetan was born in 1801. From 1798/99 to 1801/02 there was the 2nd Coalition-War with fighting of the french army in Bavaria..so..

We engaged in DNA testing which did reveal some interesting discoveries on my mother's side. Sebastian's identification as a Frenchman could very well be the linchpin that ties it all together.

The spelling "Sußu" makes me believe that he was an actual Frenchman.

It seems possible that Sebastian was a soldier of the French forces who beat the Austrians and Bavarians at Hohenlinden:
