Piotr Wojtowicz and Maria wojtowicz both from Legnica (liegnitz)

Hello everyone, I'm looking for the birth and marriage documents of Piotr Wojtowicz who died in december 1971 in Rabka Zdroj, Poland and Maria Wojtowicz who also died in 1969 in Rabka Zdroj, Poland (maiden name unknown). These two people were the grandparents of my grandma who says that they originated from Legnica (Liegnitz). I know that the birthdate of their son Ignacy Wojtowicz is 1917 so I suppose that Piotr Wojtowicz was at least born around the year 1900. I used the polish geneology databse but I can't find anything (there isn't even a single mention of the surname Wojtowicz in the province of Dolnoslaskie). Can someone help me with this?

    Hello,

Unfortunately, you won't find anything about this on the internet at the moment. As far as I know, certain deadlines apply in Poland and Germany. This means that death records will not be released until 80 years after death. Before that, you may be able to obtain information from the relevant registry office as a direct descendant. But you really have to be able to prove that.

      Hi,

Wojtowicz is not a typical name for that area; I would guess that they came to Legnica for work and were not actually born there.
Geneteka is not super useful as there are hardly any people indexing records from that area either.
My suggestion would be to manually search the marriage records of Liegnitz for the years leading up to 1917 here:

The alternative would be to request their death records from the register office in Rabka-Zdrój. Those should note the maiden name as well as their dates and places of birth.

      Kind regards,
      Michael

But shouldn't the birth records already be available? Because these are supposed to be released after 100 years in poland which is around the time Piotr Wojtowicz got his first kid, so Piotr Wojtowicz should have been born at least 15 years earlier when you take puberty into account.
