Passports issued in Znin in 1927?

We're working on my husband's family tree. We have found birth and marriage records for 3 generations of his family who lived in Janowiec Wielkopolski (Znin county) until they immigrated to Canada in 1927. On the ship documents of their passage, they state their country of citizenship as Poland and the records state their passports were issued in Znin in 1927.

Any idea where I might be able to find their passport applications? I've searched the online archives as best I can but no luck.

So why are you asking on a German forum? I don't get it.

In general, matters related to passport applications should be searched for in the fond Starostwo Powiatowe w Żninie.
You should note, though, that passport documents may have been destroyed during the war.

I don`t think that you can get any information about passports from the 1920ties anymore. But you can research the the civil registrations and the church registrations around that time and earlier. Just had a look - there is nothing online. Contact the archives of Bydgosz / Inwroclaw in Poland (last link).

Thank you for the link, I am very familiar with it. I asked here as the forum is for Posen, which is where Znin was located.

Thank you, I have spent many hours searching these archives. Unfortunately, I have come up with nothing either. But I will keep looking!
