I have been searching for many years for the ancestors of my great-grandmother, Carolina Stach, who was born near Odessa, Russia, about 1848.
Her parents were Phillipp Stach, born about 1820 in Karlstal, and Theresia Reichert, also from near Odessa, but in Karlstal/Shellenberg, which was in Bessarabia at that time. The picture becomes cloudy because my ancestors were Catholic and all the Stachs in Bessarabia were Protestantant. It is clear that all these earliest Stachs came fom Poland, according to the following source: Hopf's list of people emigrating Poland to Russia:
"Stach, Egryct (?) 1814 Powiedz/Posen/Dutchy of Warsaw Russia 634 5434276 with brother Carol August." In all the documents I have purchased from the Saratov, Russia, Catholic Diocese, no origin is given. The Stachs I am related to were from Württemberg, Germany, according to all the records. I have spent years searching records but have yet to solve this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ich suche seit vielen Jahren nach den Vorfahren meiner Urgroßmutter Carolina Stach, die um 1848 in der Nähe von Odessa, Russland, geboren wurde.
Ihre Eltern waren Phillipp Stach, geboren um 1820 in Karlstal, und Theresia Reichert, ebenfalls aus der Nähe von Odessa, aber aus Karlstal/Shellenberg, das damals in Bessarabien lag. Das Bild wird unklar, weil meine Vorfahren katholisch waren und alle Stachs in Bessarabien protestantisch waren. Es ist klar, dass alle diese frühesten Stachs aus Polen kamen, gemäß der folgenden Quelle: Hopfs Liste der Menschen, die von Polen nach Russland auswanderten:
„Stach, Egryct (?) 1814 Powiedz/Posen/Dutch of Warsaw Russia 634 5434276 mit Bruder Carol August.“ In allen Dokumenten, die ich von der katholischen Diözese Saratow, Russland, gekauft habe, ist kein Ursprung angegeben. Die Stachs, mit denen ich verwandt bin, stammten laut allen Aufzeichnungen aus Württemberg, Deutschland. Ich habe jahrelang nach Aufzeichnungen gesucht, konnte dieses Problem jedoch noch nicht lösen. Für jede Hilfe bin ich sehr dankbar.
