    Hi Bjørn:

    Departure from Hamburg 1888: https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui...w/3023961:1068

Arrival in New York 1888: https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui...w/7971677:7488

Was traveling with mother Ernestine and two younger siblings. Per Hamburg passenger list they had been living in Bjöllerup, Schleswig; this is almost certainly Bjolderup in present-day Denmark (https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bjolderup_Sogn).

According to his obituary (https://www.newspapers.com/article/t...one/136423411/) he was born 5 Dec 1874 in Stettin.

Also not yet linked in that family tree is the 1900 census record for him (https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui.../35942356:7602), where he was in household of father William Kronemann; mother here is called Augustine rather than Ernestine (that this is correct family is shown by fact that sister Ida is listed with correct age, who also was on the the two shipping lists; also mother has correct age).

    Mvh

Thank you very much for your reply and your important and great findings Carl Henry. This was super cool and kind of you.

Do you think it is possible to find his birth in the church register too?

With the best and warmest greetings from Bjørn in Norway

Stettins birth civil registration registers are available starting with around october 1874. Before that time only churchbooks are available indeed.

Ancestry reveals that no Kronemann birth was registerd in December 1874 in Stettin. I would assume that he might be from "within the region" around Stettin but obviously not born in Stettin itself.

Do you have any idea where his siblings Edmund (~1879) and Ida (~1880) where born?
It might also be a good idea to start digging into Bjolderup records about them. Maybe those records can shed some light into this issue as well. But to be honest - I have no idea if and where they could possibly be accessed.
