Auszug aus einer Mail mit der versucht wurde in USA fündig zu werden.

One of the destinations during our trip ‘cross country US’ was Oldenburg, MS in the Natchez area. There our goal was to find out the name of the man who founded the Oldenburg village (and also the settlement Hamburg, MS nearby), and if there are descendants existing of this probably Immigrant from the Oldenburg area in Germany.
We have been successful. His name is Carl Adelbert Lehmann and there are descendants living in the Natchez area.
Attached I like to provide you with the photos we have taken on Sept. 24, 2011.
I recommend also to read the.pdf document attached. It is a report about the “Civil-War-Contribution” Carl Adelbert Lehmann had given as a young immigrant.
His Photo you find here:
Researching on Sept. 24, 2011 in the Oldenburg, MS area we discovered a Mr. Gary Lehmann, who still lives in Oldenburg, MS on a farm, deep in the wood area there. The name of his son is Caleb Lehmann. They are descendants in a direct line to the founder of Oldenburg, MS. The oldest descendant of the early immigrant is Mr. Carl Ray Lehmann. He is about 80 years of age and lives with his wife on a farm at the Lehmann Road in Hamburg, MS. We also met him. He has shown us a brochure with substantial Lehmann Report, created by a Lehmann relative.
In the meantime, since my first mail to you, I was investigating here in Oldenburg, Germany for descendants of the German Lehmann family. It was not as easy as I was expecting it, and quite time-consuming.
What I found out so far:
1. Carl Adelbert Lehman, had 3 sisters. They all did remain in Germany.
2. The father of Carl did live in Oldenburg, Germany after having been retired.
3. One of his daughters, sister of Carl, was married to a Tewes Schacht, a Civil-Engineer, born 29. Sept. 1830.
4. A Paul Schacht from Hamburg (probably a son) reported his dead on 27. Oct. 1902 to the officials in Oldenburg.
As soon as I find out more about this female tweak of the Lehmann descendants, I like to share the results with you .
As next now there are investigations necessarily to be made in Hamburg, Germany.
My goal of the whole matter is, once to present the addresses from descendants of the Lehmann family still living here in Germany.
If then one of the living members of the US and one of the German tweaks of the Lehmann family would be interested in any contact: That probably would be the chance for an(your) report or story in the Natchez newspaper - if the information I send to you now with this mail would not yet contain enough material already.
