    Hallo Thomas,

Can you please be more specific about what you are seeking? First names and dates? I see Johann Thomas Zeilinger x Elisabeth Stiegler on 5 SEP 1919 at Bruckberg, Is this information that you already have? There is some information about the bride's parents and grandparents.

    Regards,

    Ellen (USA)

        Hallo Thomas,

I also have to use a translator. This is a good one:

Translate texts & full document files instantly. Accurate translations for individuals and Teams. Millions translate with DeepL every day.

I am not related to your family. I visit the forum to see if I am able to help other researchers.

I see information about Georg Wagner (1864-1932) in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Are you interested in this data?

        Regards,

        Ellen (USA)

            Hallo Thomas,

Unfortunately, I can not read much of the handwriting in your documents.

I am attaching the 1910 USA Census showing that George Wagner resided at 535 Third Street, Kalamazoo. This matches your information. It states that he arrived in the USA 1891 and he was working as a laborer for a plumbing company. He resided at this address with his aunt, Barbara Wagner.

Less than one month after the 1910 census was taken, Barbara Wagner (his aunt) died on 10 MAY 1910 at her home at 535 Third Street. I am attaching her obituary. It states: she was 69 years old. She arrived in the USA about 1870. She lived with nephew George for many years. Cause of death was dropsy. It states that George Wagner became the only living survivor of a once large German family.

About 2 months later, George marries the widow Eda M. Louise Peters geb. Kersten on 15 JUL 1910 at Kalamazoo. I attached the marriage entry.

In the 1920 census, George and his wife live at 1112 Washington Avenue, Kalamazoo. He worked as a laborer at a paper mill. It states he became a naturalized USA citizen in 1919.

George's wife, Eda Louise (sometimes Edith) died 19 SEP 1929. I attached the obituary. The obituary states she is the wife of George Wagner, the couple lived at 1108 Washington Avenue, Kalamazoo. She died at the hospital following an operation. She was survived by husband George as well as 4 brothers and 1 sister.

In the 1930 census, George resides at 1112 Washington Avenue. He is a widower and employed as a "target man" for the "street railway" industry. I attached a copy.

George Wagner died 3 SEP 1932 at Kalamazoo. Here is a link to FAG:

I attached a copy of his obituary. It states: age 68. He died at his home at 1108 Washington Avenue. He had been ill for 3 days. He was employed at the street railroad company as a watchman. He was born in Germany. His wife died 3 years earlier. He was a member of Moose Lodge. There are no living relatives.

            Regards,

            Ellen

              Hello Ellen,

thank you for the comprehensive information. That's great.
Can you get further information about your wife Eda M. Louise, for example the place and year of birth? It would be exciting to find out more about Ms. Peters.
There is the Archion tool, here you can research digitized church records. To do this you need the place of birth, if possible the year of birth.
Some more information about Mr. Wagner:
Georg Wagner was a brother of my great-grandmother Eva Wagner 1870-1932 and her husband Johann Friedrich Zeilinger.

              Many greetings

              Thomas

                Hallo Thomas,

                1. Did you have the information about George's aunt (Barbara Wagner) who died in 1910 at Kalamazoo?

                2. Here is what I found about George's wife: Eda (or Edith or Etha) Louise Kersten.

                * I attached her 1929 death certificate. It states she was born 5 OCT 1868 or 1869. I did not find her birth. Her father is Herman Kersten & her mother is Maria Brockmann.

                * I attached her first marriage to George PETER (entry #2419). It states she was born in Kalamazoo. It names her father as Herman Kersten. But names her mother Maria Hafkoning - I think this was an error and should be Brockmann. This marriage was 12 SEP 1893 at Kalamazoo.

                * The 1900 Census shows her married to George Peters. They reside at 1920 North Edwards Street, Kalamazoo. They have no children. Her birth date is OCT 1868.

                * Eda filed for a divorce from George Peter on 15 DEC 1909. The divorce was finalized 10 MAR 1910. The reason for divorce: cruelty and drunkenness (alcohol abuse).

                * FAG entry:

                * The FAG link also gives you information about the parents and some of the siblings of Eda.

                * Herman Kersten (her father) died 4 MAR 1908 at Kalamazoo. Death certificate attached.

                * I am including a profile from Ancestry for Eda's father and mother. I am not sure if the information is correct but it may provide hints.

                I hope that helps

I'm still looking for the aunt George Wagner lived with.
According to the birth registers, one or two people would be eligible.
As soon as I find something specific, I will send the information.

                    Best regards

                    Thoma Friedlein
