Hope English is OK.
Some of my ancestors came from Germany in the early 1830s. From Danish church books and census I have detailed information from time of immigration and forward, but earlier information is quite sparse. So looking for help on how to go on digging in German archives.
Here are some facts:
Glasmacher Carl Friedrich Philip Ludwig, born ~1791 in Hanover
married to Anna Marie Müller or Müllerinn, born ~1796 in Hanover
I don't have information on when and where they were married.
The most precise data is from their son's confirmation in Denmark:
Friederich August Wilhelm Leonard Ludwig, born 12 May 1830 in Glass factory Sengenthal, Brakel, Hanover
The family moved quite a lot. Their first child Johanne was born ~1819 in Braunschweig (Niedersachsen ?), then a son Carl Robert born 2 Feb 1824 in Reval (todays Tallinn, Estonia) and then Friedrich in Brakel. In Denmark (Fensmark) they got two more sons. All sons became glass makers.
There's a Brakel in Nordrhein-Westphalen, but maybe Brakel was part of Hanover in 1830 ?
I searched in Archion.de, but couldn't find a church book covering Brakel 1830.
Best regards
Claus
