Plenz in Köln, Schweppenhausen, Brasilien und USA

    Hallo zusammen,

für einen Mitforscher aus Brasilien, der leider kein Deutsch spricht, stelle ich einmal seine Fragen hier ein.

I am looking for informations about Anton Plenz who lived in Cologne.
He was a brother of Heinrich Plentz and Nicolas Plentz.
Heinrich came to Brazil in 1846 with a sister, and Nicolas with another sister went to New Riegel-OH-USA in 1848.
Probably, their parents were Jacob Plentz and Franciska Neff.

I have a letter from Anton to Nicolas, where he says he was a member of a Congregation devoted to the Virgin Mary, with 1500 men.
I think it could be this congregation: Marianische Männerkongregation, Schwalbengasse 1, 50667 Köln , (Pfarramt St. Maria in der Kupfergasse),
But this letter has no date, I think it is around 1865 / 1875.
I don't know if this information could help.

I don t know where they were born. I know they lived in Schweppenhausen, as Anton says in the letter he has not been there for 23 years.

Parents : Jacob Plentz and Franziska Neff - I only have the names.

Sons : Anton, Margaretha, Nikolau, Heinrich, Elisabetha.

    1 -Heinrich Plentz, born April 10, 1814, probably ( ??) in Schweppenhausen

Emmigrated to Brazil, March 26, 1846.

Arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Abril 22, 1846.

Married Elisabeth Palm, November 21, 1847, S o Leopoldo-RS ( second marriege), daughter of Georg Palm and Elisabetha Sonnet, born March 3, 1830, in Daxweiler, near Stromberg.

2 - Elisabetha Plentz, married Jacob Liesenfelder, in Brazil.

3 - Nicholas Plentz, born probably on August 1, or September 1, 1823 Arrived to New York on June 5, 1848, on the Antwerp brig, from Antwerp. With 24 years old, shoemacher.

The birth date I have for Nicholas is 1 September 1823.
This date was calculated from this information: Nicholas died on 19 February 1907. His tombstone says he was aged 83 years, 5 months, and 18 days.

    Married Elizabeth Nord, ( born June19, 1814, in Schwebenbach ) February 11, 1850, in New Riegel-OH-USA.

4 - Margaretha Plentz, married John Myers, in New Riegel-OH

5 - Anton Plenz, lived in Köln, childrens:

    Gerdrut
    Anton
    Sibilla
    Peter
    Helene
    Johan
    Joseph
    Karl or Carl

Any help will be very nice. Thank you very much.

Die Passagierlisten habe ich noch nicht überprüft, ob da noch weitere Infos enthalten sind.
