      Hi Bjørn:

      1. Ferdinand was not born in Baden-Baden. He was born in Oberbergen, the same place all his siblings were born and where his parents were married.

      2. For the ship's manifest, see https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer...YM237_389-0363. About half-way down you will see Lorenz Strub, 44, then Matthias Reichenbach, 65 [his father-in-law?], then Clara Strub, 40, then Ferdinand "", 16, then all of the other children.

      3. For the church books, there are two sets of church books for Oberbergen. One is the original set ("Erstbuch"), which is in the archive of the archdiocese of Freiburg. These have been digitized by the Mormons, but you have to be in a Family History Center or affiliated library to see the images. The other set ("Kirchenbuchduplikat") is a duplicate set that the priests had to prepare for safe-keeping and is now in the state archive of Baden-Württemberg and can be seen on their website (indexed by familysearch.org).

      4. For the birth of Ferdinand in 1857, the link to the record in the original set is here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QBSG-R36Z. The record in the second set is here (lower half of left side): http://www.landesarchiv-bw.de/plink/?f=5-475865-120

      5. For the birth of Lorenz in 1830, the link to the record in the original set is here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:7MSN-8RZM. The record in the secod set is here (lower entry on left side): http://www.landesarchiv-bw.de/plink/?f=5-475862-235

      6. For the marriage of Lorenz and Klara in 1857, the link to the record in the original set is here: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QBQZ-KY6Z. The record in the second set is here (first entry on left side): http://www.landesarchiv-bw.de/plink/?f=5-475865-125

      7. In general, note that this family has already been very thoroughly sourced at familysearch.org: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pe...tails/LRCD-6L5 and https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pe...urces/LRCD-6L5

      8. As for Louise Rumig/Rumich, since she was born in Minnesota, there will be no immigration record for her. And since we do not know the names of her parents (and cannot, because there were no birth records kept in Minnesota at that time), we don't know where to look for them in the immigration lists, either.

      Hope this helps!
