    Eine Person finden

    Hallo!

Ich wäre dankbar um hilfe. Ich frage mich, wie man Informationen über eine Person erhält.Die Person war: Maria Florentina Haertel, geborene Ülwer. Sie wurde geboren 8. September 1905, in Hemelingen, Kreis Achim.

    Peter

    Hi Peter,

where did you get the name Rihm from??
A bit more info would be helpful.

I found a death record for Günter Ulwer born 4.1.1925 in Hamburg.

    Died 19.5.1943 in Hamburg

Mother, Marie Florentine Ulwer, no father mentioned.

      Hello Dave!

Thank you so much for the answer. I know Maria got 2 children. Both children had the surname Rihm. The son had it until he died a few years ago, his name was Günter in the first name. The mother divorced sometime when the children were small. When the mother's last name as a child was Ulwer, I think her first husband was called Rihm in last name.
Given that the children had the surname Rihm as adults. Interestingly, you found a person named Maria Florentine Ulwer who had a son named Günter Ulwer. Maybe they had a brother? The oldest child was born in 1927, so that child perhaps she got with another man 2 years earlier except the marriage?
Can you see what year the mother was born in the document you saw?

      Regards

      Peter

              Hi Peter,

Rihm seems to have been a very rare surname in Hamburg in those decades.
A Metallschlosser ( metal fitter ) L. Rihm, Neuer Steinweg 45 is listed in Hamburg address book 1932
A Marie Rihm, Hütten 58, Hamburg 36 is listed in 1933 and 1935.

L Rihm seems to be a Ludwig * 10.4.1882 been married to a Gretha Luise Minna Wehrsig in 1904 and divorced in 1921 as his profession is stated as metal grinder.

A Ludwig Wilhelm R. ( possibly a son to Ludwig above ) was married to Marie Florentine Ulwer Nov 27, 1926 in Hamburg ( Standesamt Hamburg 23, No 565/ 1926 ).

                Hello Thomas!

Thank you so much for the answer. He is very likely to be their father. Maria's son, who was born in 1929, was given the surname Rihm and Ludwig in the middle name. Perhaps after his grandfather named Ludwig? According to notes I have seen before, was Rihm born in Poland, Danzig 1903? Maybe more common surname in Poland? In Mary's death certificate, it is noted evangelisch-lutherisch. Was it writen in all death certificates of that time? Whatever creed? Even if you are of Jewish descent?

                Regards

                Peter

The side note on Maria Florentines death certificate is from 1950, saying that her husband now lives in Hildesheim, Galgenbergstrasse 20
