    DNA Record of my Half-Brother

    Hello Forum Friends,

A few months ago I asked on this forum about how I can get information on my half-brother (I met him for the first time in 2006 and we only had minimal contact after that).

I received an email today from the Hildburghausen Standesamt advising of my half brother’s birth date and when he passed away. I have subsequently emailed them back and have asked whether I can obtain a copy of the records. Note: my mother never saw her son again after giving him up in 1940.

My half-brother told me in 2006 that he took someone to court who he suspected was his father and the judge requested a DNA test to be undertaken. This was done and it confirmed who the father was.

My question is whether there is a possibility to obtain the court record on this court matter or is this type of matter confidential in Germany. I’m presuming this matter was dealt with in Hildburghausen in the early 2000.

    Many thanks,

    Angy

I doubt that you ll allowed to have an insight into that case because its about your half brother and his father and you dont share a father so his Identity might still be protected

    best regards,
