Hi,
Apologies for posting in English, but I am sadly unable to write or read German - so thank God for Google translation tool!
I am undertaking a small personal investigation of my family's German roots. For many decades I knew that my most distant relative John George Dill had immigrated to Bath, England at the end of the 18th Century, but was never aware of the actual town he originated from.
It was only on the recent death of my father , and my early retirement, that I have had the opportunity to delve a little further.
From a few internet searches I now know that he was born in Neiderstetten, the son of Johan Michael Dill (born 1749) and Charlotte Dorothea Schumm.
I would dearly like to be able to explore further - the best hope appears to be provided by this forum, as I have read some really comprehensive responses to similar questions from other forum members.
I would be very grateful of any information/leads.
Many thanks, in kind anticipation.
Raymond Dill
