Hi Monica and Greetings.
The Cutting saga:
I have been into the Gen.net site and found Thomas Cutting, he has 2 marriages 1 to Catharine Schrader in 1825, they had listed 3 children ( not 11 ) she died in 1847 age 47yrs , his 2nd marriage was to Catharine Aufderheide in c1849 daughter of Johann and Anne (nee Plate) which is now falling into place.
The next move is his service in the vis: (St Thomas Cutting, Lieutenant 3rd light Bat: the former German Legion) which has him in Germany at his discharge.
Apparently he signed up in England at the time of formation and he served in the "Battle of Waterloo " this was era 1812 1816 he was in the 20yrs age bracket. i have looked hi n low for info on the Kings German legion to no avail only this that leads to no where:
" Volume 2 continues the narrative from May 1811, via the Battle of Waterloo, to the legion's disbandment in February 1816"
Surely there are records of this battalion some where in archives?
It just never stops does it
Regards
