Family name Louden or more correct Alaudan and in arabic لودن أو الأصح الأودن is the name of a family living mainly in Egypt. General Amin Mansour Louden was the General Inspector of the egyptian army 1945-1948. He was born in Samadun in Almonofiya, Egypt. His son Professor Dr. Mohammad Mohy Eldin Louden immigrated to (West) Germany in 1975 and since 1980 he lived and worked in Berlin. Old history books in arabic state that many islam-theologists have the family name Alaudan (as written in german) or Alawdan (as written in english) and this name is rooted to a village called Wadana (in arabic ودنة أو أودنة ) near Buchara in central Asia.
