    Sterbeurkunde. Death Certificate

    Hallo!

Ich wäre sehr dankbar für die Suche nach einer Sterbeurkunde oder Tipps auf jeder Webseite, auf der ich suchen kann. Die Person namens Ludwig? Wilhelm? Rihm ist sich der Vornamen nicht sicher. Aber der Nachname ist richtig. Wahrscheinlich 1903 in Danzig Polen geboren. Lebte wahrscheinlich in Hamburg, als er starb. Sollte er 1903 geboren sein, hätte er 1935-1989 gestorben?

    Gruß

    Peter

    Hello!

I would be very grateful for help finding a death certificate or tips on any web page where I can search. The person named Ludwig? Wilhelm? Rihm, is uncertain of the first names. But the surname is correct. Probably born in 1903 in Danzig Poland. Probably living in Hamburg when he died. Given that he was born in 1903, should he have died in 1935-1989?

    Regards

    Peter

    Hello,

I would first try and find his birth entry: go to http://metryki.genbaza.pl/en, register, and look for his birth entry. You would then have clarity about his first names, and his date of birth.

Afterwards, you could have a look at the historic address books of Hamburg here:

Hopefully, you can find him there and narrow down when he died.

Alternatively, you could request a "Melderegisterauskunft" about him here:

In order to do so, you would need:
    1. surname
    2. first name
    3. date of birth OR his address in Hamburg
Hopefully, you would learn from this when he died.

Once you know when he died, you could request a copy of his death certificate (if he has died before 1988) here:

    Regards,

    Heike

      Hello again,

I just saw your other two threads.

The pictures of the marriage entry are probably from church books. I would request a complete copy of the state marriage entry from http://www.hamburg.de/staatsarchiv. You should learn his date (and place) of birth from it, and his address at the time of his wedding.

Regarding your questions about Jewish descent: Look for the birth certificate; it should contain the religion of the parents of the child. I don't think a former religion would be mentioned in a marriage or death certificate (though I'm unsure about documents from 1933-1945).

      Regards,

      Heike

          Hi,

I looked for possible death entries here, but didn´t find one in the periods 1966 till 1983. https://www.hamburg.de/bkm/digitalis...-sterbefaelle/

I enclose a photo, please can you translate this to english?
It is the word before Religion.
It is written in Germany. I beleive that it is an information about the persons creed?

            Regards
