I'm curious of the ancestors of Diedrich Hinck ho came from Hamburg and settled in Bergen, Norway. He was one of my ancestors.
He is listed as a 22 year old "matros" in 1804: http://gda.arkivverket.no/cgi-win/we...merk=6087#ovre
The family name were also spelled Hinch and Hink in Norway, but I believe the Hinck form is the most authentic.
His children were named Klaus (b.1804) and Didriche Cathrine (b.1805). These names didn't come from his wife's family and I believe they may have come from his German family (probably his parents if he followed Norwegian customs).
I'm hoping that someone on this forum may have a missing Diedrich Hinck in their family tree or know where I should continue my search.
Entschuligen Sie mir bitte, meine Deutsch ist nicht gut. I haven't used it since high school.
