    Hi,

I have moved your comment to a new thread as the surname SCHOLZ is super common and I didn’t see any indication that you might be related to the other user.

    Kind regards,
    Michael

In case you don't have a copy of his baptism record - its online:

2nd entry - parents: Daniel Scholz & Anna Rosina Selzer.
Born on February 6th (not January), baptised on Feb 9th.

          Hi,

here’s the translation - if you want to pursue this further, you should familiarise yourself with the Kurrent handwriting script.

A boy was born unto the tenant Daniel Scholz by his wife Anna Rosina née Selzer on 6 February at 11.30 p.m., which was baptised on the 9th of the month and given the name Johann Gottlieb.
          Godparents:
          1. midwife Therese Uebershär from here
          2. small-time farmer (Häusler) Gottlieb Wende from here
          3. tenant’s wife Johanne Eleonore Schmidt

Given that Daniel was a tenant, he was probably a day labourer or farmhand and not very wealthy. Let’s hope his father owned land as it will be difficult to pursue your ancestry further otherwise, given that the duplicate Lutheran churchbooks only start in 1849 and that the originals are lost.

          Kind regards,
          Michael

Btw. - I checked the church book in the period 1854-1863 and found no other entries, baptisms ect. Possibly Daniel and Anna-Rosina were from another village and only the baptism of Johann Gottlieb happened in Lossen.

Of course it is possible that I have overlooked something.

                Hi,

                Great find!
Since the parents were seemingly still alive when Johann Gottlob got married, it should be possible to find their death records in the civil registers and hopefully find out who their parents were.

                Kind regards,
                Michael

Right, so I found Daniel already. Should only be a matter of time to find the death record of Anna Rosina as well. Updates in the overview post above.

P.S. I checked the death records in Lossen between 1884-1895 - so far no sign of Anna Rosina born Selzer or any other child. Its not guaranteed, that, after her husbands death, she moved away, maybe to one of her children. Who knows...unfortunately the name Scholz is, as Weltenwanderer already mentioned, one if not *the* most common german name. You can find someone named Scholz in almost every village..so that makes it really hard to connect and find the right ones.

Hello, Daniel Scholz (*1813) was born to his parents Anton Scholz and Maria Elisabeth Ziebol(t)z, all from Lossen. Daniel died on 20th of November 1884, whereas Anna Rosina Pelzer has died thereafter, as it was she to have her husbands death recorded.

                    Kind regards
