Searching for Stefan Mader k.k. fieldmineur - Corps'

    Hello,

I am searching for Stefan Mader, any birth or death of him.

All I know is his name and his title: ''löbl. k.k. fieldmineur - Corps'', his wife Rosalia nee Hirsch, and that he died before 1822. I got this information from his daughter's (Agnes) wedding record.

Agnes wedding entry (last one) http://data.matricula-online.eu/en/o...e/02-13/?pg=89

Is there any way of finding him?

    Hi,

    I found a Steph. Maader in https://books.google.de/books?id=yqw...maader&f=false
He is mentioned in the "Mineur-Corps" at least from 1815 till 1823.
If the "seelig" entry in the wedding entry is correct, maybe it´s just a coincidence as Maader´s further promotions are mentioned here https://books.google.de/books?id=ReS...0corps&f=false.
I just read that a "Mineur-Führer" was a non-commissioned officer, thus Stephan Mader had not been listed in the almanacs.

his title: ''löbl. k.k. fieldmineur - Corps''
      Hello Milutinus,

excuse me for correcting you, but that was not his title. The "k.k. Feld-Mineurs-Corps" was a branch and unit of the k.k. austrian army with 5 companies and less than 900 men in 1813. Mineurs were a kind of pioneers.

His title was "Mineurführer", that means mineur leader, probably a corporal or sergeant rank. Each company of the Mineur-Corps had 8 Mineurführer.

So Agnes wedding entry states, Stefan Mader was a Mineurführer in the löbl. k.k. Feld-Mineurs-Corps.

Maybe the Kriegsarchiv of Austrian State Archives can help you.

      Greetings
      Basil

        Thank you for finding it.

What are the odds that 2 different Stefan Mader exist who both are Mineur-Führer? Could there have been a mistake that it says that they were dead before 1822?

            Hello,

There were 2 Stephan Maders in the Mineurcorps. The one that was mentioned was an officer. The one you want is the Stephan Ma(a)der, born on 26.12.1758 in Nebetein near Olmütz (http://digi.archives.cz/da/permalink...scan=24#scan24).

There is a short summary of his carreer until ~1806 here (family members included): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61...271&cat=543937

In 1812, he was declared half-invalid and was placed in the Garnisonsabteilung; see https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61...577&cat=543937)

I haven't yet found the date of his death, but I will keep looking.

            Regards

Absolutely incredible! How did you manage to find him?

Are Joseph Johann and Theresia Anna Agnes his children in the second document?

As for the first part of the question, I just had to see which documents for the k.k. Feldmineurkorps were available in https://www.familysearch.org/search/...jectIndex=2500. So, I took a look at the „Musterlisten und Standestabellen“ which include the period around 1800.

The second part of the question has been already answered, as I have seen.

I am still unable to find out what happened to him after 1812, however.

                Regards
