Jemand Erfahrungen mit den Alien-Files (A-Files) des National Archives (USA)?

Hi,

wollte mal nachfragen ob hier jemand Erfahrungen mit den "Alien Files" (bzw A-Files) des National Archives in Kansas gemacht hat?

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) signed an agreement on June 3, 2009, to make the Alien Files (A-Files) a permanent series of records, eligible for transfer to NARA custody 100 years after the immigrant's year of birth. Created by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) beginning in April 1944, A-Files contain all records of any active case of an alien not yet naturalized as they passed through the United States immigration and inspection process.

Wüßte nun gern ob sich eine Anfrage dort lohnen könnte. Habe eine Akte zur 1.Frau meines Großvaters gefunden aber die hohen Kosten zur Anfrage schrecken doch etwas ab...

hat jemand da schon Erfahrungen mit gemacht?

Vor allem wäre es hilfreich wenn man vorab den Umfang und ob ggf Photos in der Akte sind erfahren könnte... hmm...
