Verbleib von Wilhelm Kurz, * 1786 in Obergrenzebach

Hallo zusammen,

ich bin auf der Suche nach dem Verbleib meines 3x Urgroßonkels

Johann Wilhelm KURZ
(auch Kurtz)

Er wurde am 07.03.1786 in Obergrenzebach (heute OT von 34621 Frielendorf, Schwalm-Eder-Kreis)
als uneheliches Kind des
Johannes Kurz und der Anna Kunigunda Bernhard geboren.

Nach Stationen in den heutigen Alsfelder Stadtteilen Leusel und Angenrod landete er zwischen 1833 und 1837 in
Ober-Gleen (heute OT von 36320 Kirtorf, Vogelsbergkreis).
Seit dem 06.08.1837 war er Witwer.
Am 01.08.1841 war er in Ober-Gleen noch Pate bei seinem gleichnamigen Enkelsohn Wilhelm Kurz.
Danach verliert sich seine Spur.

Kürzlich fand ich jetzt jedoch Hinweise, dass er mit einem oder mehreren seiner jüngeren Kinder
nach Nordamerika ausgewandert sein könnte.

In der Auswandererkartei fand ich ihn bislang jedoch nicht.

Wer von euch hat evtl. weitere Infos zum Verbleib des Wilhelm Kurz, oder kann ggf. sogar weitere Lebensdaten oder Aufenthaltsorte nennen?

Ich bin hier für jeden Hinweis dankbar.

They should be the following children:

Johann Heinrich, * 05.07.1815 in Angenrod
Katharina, * 03.10.1831 in Angenrod

I found the probable death certificate of Katherine on 18 DEC 1911, Largo, Florida, USA. The birth date matches and it names her father as William Kurtz. This is from Family Search. I have included a link:

I could not find definitive immigration records. I found one possible for Katherine on Ancestry.com. Do you have an account there? I do not see how to attach a picture of the information here. If you send me a private message with your email address, I will email it to you. It states: the arrival date in New York is 5 JUNE 1844; Katherine is 13 years old; port of departure is Rotterdam; ship name is "Garonne;" Family Identification #: 30142548. There is no photo of the actual passenger list.

It is not uncommon for family trees on Ancestry.com to be incorrect. But I found someone with this Katherine in their tree with photographs. I can not attach them here but I will send it via email if you would like. According to this tree: Katherine married Charles Wharton Johnson 31 MARCH 1850, Florida. The couple had 8 children and there are many photographs.
