Hallo von Amerika. Ich suche mehr Informationen über die Wittig Familie, die 1882 auf dem Schiff Rhein - Karl, Juliane und Karl-jr. auswanderte.
Karl, aka Karl Johann Wittig, getragen Sept. 18, 1840 heiratete Juliane Zeebe, getragen 2. November 1847 - hatte Sohn Richard Charles Wittig, bevor dem Kommen nach Amerika am 9. August 1872.
Suchen irgendwelcher Informationen über diese Familie! Würde Korrespondenz auf englisch bevorzugen, wie ich sehr deutsches wenig weiß. Danke

Hometown in Germany or something else?

The only other information that I have is that Richard Charles Wittig states that he was born in Berlin... I know, not much help. I ordered the papers from the German Emigration Database and all three had listed "no information" when it came to the hometown/last known residence. Karl/Carl lists as parents "Gottlob" and "Augusta" - thats it.

Found out recently that they came from Konigsberg - today known as Berlin...

Found out on the LDS Pilot Records search that their full names are:

Johann Carl Gottlob Wittig
Auguste Juliane Zeebe
Johann Carl Richard Wittig

Johann Carl Richard Wittig was shown being baptized in Berlin, Brandenburg, Preußen, Germany ~ so, he was right in saying he was from Berlin!
