Sgt. Paul Ernst Kaess (1921-2002) served in the German Army in WWII in France, Russia, Yugoslavia, Greece, Bulgaria, Rumania, and perhaps Poland. Family states he saw action in Russia, Yugoslavia, and Greece. He was in the Field Artillery in a Sturm Artillerie unit.

Paul was from Benningen am Neckar, Germany, from a long line of Kaess' there. He was married twice to 1) Dorothea 'Doris' Dorschke and 2) Hildegard Louise Golz. He had four children, three living to adulthood. He died in Pleidelsheim, Germany, on Mar 25 2002 in the Nursing Home of the Hospitalers.

Garret Thomas Kaess, Grandson of Paul Ernst Kaess, visited Cali, Colombia, and an area near Shanghai, China and Beijing, China, in 2019. He saw the Great Wall of China.

Garret Thomas Kaess, Grandson of Paul Ernst Kaess

Garret Thomas Kaess, Grandson of Paul Ernst Kaess, visited three countries in eight days in June 2019. These were France, Italy, and Germany. This was a company sponsored trip for Eli Lilly, Inc.; Garret is scheduled to visit South America (for research) in early 2020.

Sylvia Jägersberg in Ludwigsburg said they actually still have a card or record for Gerd Edwin Paul Kaess (1947-1972) as a student. He attended the Mörike Gymnasium in Ludwigsburg, Germany, from 1958/59 to the school year 1960/61. Gerd also attended the Volksschule Heutingsheim for grade school.

Brigitte Gerber of the Mörike Gymnasium Ludiwgsburg stated that Gerd Edwin Paul Kaess (1947-1972) left the school on 22.3.1961 and began vocational training after that.Gerd is the son of Paul Ernst Kaess.

Brian Paul Kaess, grandson of Paul Ernst Kaess, visited the Cuidad Juarez/El Paso area on the U.S./Mexico border on abt Feb 24/25 2020. He applied for and received a six month visa from the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, on Feb 25, 2020. He has been living in Mexico, with the exception of trips to the USA, from 2006 to 2020. He has crossed the border at El Paso, Texas, and Laredo, Texas, several times via bus. He has also flown from Durango, Mexico to Chicago on occasion.

On March 19, 2020, Mayte Kaess answered questions about the INEGI 2020 Mexico National Census outside her white/brown, two story three bedroom, home in/near Lote 23, Circuito via Venecia, Fracc. Las Villas, Sebastian Lerdo de Tejada, Dgo., Mexico, C.P. 34330. The House has a small storage/computer room, two showers and a solar powered/gas powered boiler.

She told the 3-4 INEGI workers that there were three people living at the house (herself, her husband Brian Paul Kaess, and their 18 year old son Paul Jesus Kaess Urbina), and that her name was Mayte Urbina Kaess.

Some of the Urbina family celebrations are held here on Holidays, such as New Year's 2020.
