    Armadebrunn

    Hallo

      Hello,

one of the problems with Armadebrunn is, that it many records have been lost (protestant, catholic church registers). This wil certainly make research alot more complicated (if not impossible). But I'm not really sure which parish was responsible for Armadebrunn (just some educated guesses here) - maybe someone else here will know more.

The good thing is, that the land registers have survived and might (always a big IF) contain some genealogical data. Unfortunately these register are seldom online and can only be viewed (or ordered) from the state archive.
For example here are some land registers which contains ppl with the name Winkler:
      https://szukajwarchiwach.pl/89/1506/...1#tabJednostka (41 pages - covering 1887-1939)
      https://szukajwarchiwach.pl/89/1506/...1#tabJednostka (235 pages - covering 1806-1917)
But be aware, ordering these records can be costly (ask first for the price, before you really order them) - and obviously these records contain alot of legal terminology - so they can be hard to read & understand (even for german readers). Also above mentioned records could be for other people with the name Winkler (the names given are Louis and Gustav), so they could contain your Winklers as well or it might cover a different branch of your family. As you can see, quite alot of uncertainty with these records, but sometimes they are the only documents that are left.
Hopefully others here have more insight into that specific village/area - so don't take my words for granted.

        CARL WINKLER, Armadebrunn

        Hello Lisa,

ancestry has the death registration for KARL (=CARL) WINKLER: https://www.ancestry.de/imageviewer/...ue&pId=3640240

He died on 4th of October 1900 in his home in Armadebrunn at the age of 66 years (born 1833/34). He was of protestant religion and born in Armadebrunn. His wife JOHANNE CHRISTIANE NEUMANN announced the death of her husband at the civil registration office in Primkenau. His profession/status has been "Häusler/Auszügler". These old terms can be understood as some kind of farmer who has handed over his farm to one of his children but still living there.

The parents of the deceased are GOTTLIEB WINKLER and CHRISTIANE born HAHN. Both already deceased and also residents in Armadebrunn.

        Best regards
        Reiner

ancestry has also the death entry for KARLs wife CHRISTIANE born NEUMANN: https://www.ancestry.de/imageviewer/...67&pId=3795795

She died on 18th of may 1920 also in Armadebrunn at the age of 81 years (born 1840/41). She was also of protestant religion and born in Hinterheide county Bunzlau. Further details to her parents deceased in Hinterheide are unkown.

The death was announced by GUSTAV WINKLER, "Häusler" in Armadebrunn. It ca be supposed that GUSTAV is son of KARL and CHRISTIANE WINKLER and successor on the farm.

As sonki has already mentioned there will be no chance to get more information before 1874, as civil registration started in October of this year and before this church books do no longer exist as a source.

But ten entries can be found at ancestry for birth, marriage or death of their children: https://www.ancestry.de/search/colle...x=1&name_x=1_1
I recommend that you check all these entries by yourself as it is a lot of stuff.

          Best regards
          Reiner
