Hello!
One of my ancestors called Johann Heinrich Mettegang was born in Mettegang some time during the second half of the 17th century. What I do know is that he emigrated to Sweden and settled as a merchant in Malmö. He also had a brother Dietmar in Malmö who is mentioned in 1692. In 1723 the magistrate in Malmö recieved a letter adressed to the heirs of Johann Heinrich since his brother, who had managed the legacy of their mother had died childless. Do you know if the records of Bochum from that time still exist or do you know anything about the Mettegang family?
Yours faithfully,
Magnus Moding
