    Haru Matsumoto, Yokohama

    Hello,

My greatgrandpa`s brother FERDINAND CHARLES RHINE emigrated to Yokohama/Japan in 1893/94. He had been naturalized in England some years before.

At Yokohama he lived together with a woman named HARU MATSUMOTO.
In April 1896 their first son was born called William, one or two years later the second son named John (Henry) was born.
Charles Ferdinand had died in 1916. What about his wife?
Unfortunately I know nothing about her. Where does she come from? Where did she live when Charles had died and when died she die?
I think, Haru Matsumoto had been born between 1876 and 1880 - she must have been very young when her first son was born.

Perhaps there are descendants from her family who know something about her?
I`m looking forward to make contact with everybody who is able to tell something about Haru.

    Dear Ms. Elreichen,

Recently I read your notice in Ahnenforschung
that you wrote 2 years ago. I know a little
about Haru Matsumoto. Your great grand father
named Ferdinand Charles Rhine must be
a great grand father of my friend.
Haru Matsumoto, who is my friend’s great grand
mother, was born in 1879 and died in 1969
in Yokohama. Her son, William got married
to a Japanese woman and got a daughter.
    She was my friend’s mother.
My friend still has a lot of memories of Haru.
If you want to make contact with my friend,
    please mail me.

    with best regards,

    Yours sincerely,

    Yuko

      Dear Yuko,

I`m so happy to receive this news, which I never expected. Nearly 2 years I had been searching for any hints to my Japanese ancestors. But it was so hard to get any information! From United Kingdom`s Archieves I got the death record of Charles Ferdinand - but nothing about Haru and their sons.
I would be very very glad if you could give me your friends´address.
I will give my private e-mail-address to you. Please, have a look in your private e-mails and give my address to your friend. I will look forward to hear from her/him.

      Yours sincerely,
      Anne-Christin
