Jurgen May of the Amtsgericht (Law) office of Ludwigsburg said a search was made on July 10 2018 for the probated Will of Paul Ernst Kaess (1921-2002) but none was found. Perhaps it was not filed. Jurgen said to try the office in Marbach am Neckar.

On abt 1987, while Garret Thomas Kaess was attending Roosevelt University in Chicago, Garret was taking a Philosophy class (Technology and Human Values) when he met a Holocaust survivor. Garret told the gentlemen that he was German, and the Holocaust survivor replied, 'Yes, you look very German.' Garret is actually an ethnic German who is an American citizen. Garret was impressed by the insights the Holocaust survivor had about human beings.

Xenia Baerschneider has been in a relationship with Walter Brandt since Mar 2014. He is from Sennfeld, Germany.

Brian Paul Kaess shows up in the Gamers Guild group photo on page 229 of the 1983 Lane Tech H.S. (Chicago) yearbook and other photos in the 1984 and 1985 yearbooks.

On March 7 2019 Brian Paul Kaess received 17 pages in Mexico from a Denazification file for Sgt. Paul Ernst Kaess (1921-2002) found in the Staatsarchiv Ludwigsburg in Ludwigsburg, Germany. In the Denazification file for Paul Ernst Kaess, there was located Military Info. There was also a list of Medals/Awards at the bottom-right of the Military Service section. They read as follows:

1) Ostmedalie 1942 (Eastern Front Medal)
2) EK.II. 1943 (Iron Cross 2nd Class)
3) EK.I. 1943 (Iron Cross 1st Class)
4) Sturm abzeichen I.u.II.Stuffe (General Assault Badge 1st & 2nd Step)
5) Verwundstewabzeichen mit Schwarz Grunde und Tapfer Keit 1944 (Wounds Badge 3rd Class for Bravery)

In 2019, Garret Thomas Kaess was scheduled to visit France/Italy, Colombia and Brazil, and perhaps even China- all for Eli Lilly. His son Nicholas Todd Kaess graduated May 11 2019 with a B.A. from Butler University.
